The assault on Emmanuel S Agbogun, which took place on a construction site at airport road, yesterday, believed to be an ongoing fueling station project, alleged to be owned by one Philip Shaibu, situated directly underneath the transmission lines of the Benin Airport, is one that has become highly condemnable.
It would be recalled that the location of the proposed fueling station being under construction, has drawn several criticisms from well meaning Edo people, at home and diaspora, who have frowned at the siting of the project, close to venue of other commercial activities, where possible misharps have also been predicted by some, owing to the volatile nature of P.M.S, in such sensitive location.
However due to the said societal standing of the owner, many seem to be afraid to lend their voice to call on the said power that be, to halt the aforementioned project, since it falls short of D.P.R standards for setting up a fueling station, as certain line of arguements placed by critics of the project has revealed.
Comr. Emmanuel Agbogun, has been greeted by the vile antecedents of those who consider themselves as constituted authority, but thank God, he is alive and to that effect, best of recovery, is wished upon him. But its however unfortunate how some individuals are bent on satisfying their materialistic desires, even at the detriment of potential danger it may pose on safety of lives and properties in the long run.
